How does someone go from a future English teacher to a business major? It’s not that big of a jump once you realize the connection between the two.
Spencer started out his college journey three years ago dead-set on becoming an English teacher, but realized his passion wasn’t tied to the subject itself. It was the idea of being able to make a difference in his classmates’ lives, like his English teachers had to him, that made English his first career choice. This is when a new dream came to Spencer: to study business and marketing in order to one day work in a non-profit that can make a real difference in people’s lives, and to run innovative marketing campaigns that encourage people to make real change. It is this dream to make a difference that brought him to Sparrow as an intern, to learn the ropes of modern-day marketing from its experienced veterans.
